Literature Text

It's just a normal day in Harry and Louis' flat. The two of them are play fighting on the floor, rolling over each other, giggling. Louis finally overpowers Harry and pins his wrists to the floor.

"Say mercy," Louis commands, nosing all over Harry's neck, grinning at the boy beneath him.

"No!" Harry exclaims with a giggle, tugging at his wrists, but though smaller, Louis is stronger than him.

"Say, mercy," Louis repeats.

"Never!"

Louis sighs.

"You give me no choice."

He collects Harry's wrists in one hand and starts scribbling at his boyfriend's sides.

But what he doesn't expect is for Harry to start crying, shrieking in terror.

"No! Please, stop, stop, STOP!"

Louis pulls his hands away immediately, freeing Harry's hands and getting off of him. Harry sits up, sniffling, and rubbing his wrists. Louis feels guilt starting to eat at his stomach.

"Harry, baby, what's the matter?"

He grabs Harry's hand lightly, stroking his thumb over the top.

"What you were doing, it just...scared me."

Louis scrunches up his face in confusion.

"What do you mean? How can you be scared of tickling?"

Harry squeezes his eyes tightly shut, shivering slightly, and takes a deep breath, beginning in a quiet voice,

"When I was around five years old, I had a dream that I was in a big house with some other kids. A bell went off, and there was a voice saying, "Monsters are coming," and everybody ran away to hide. I didn't know where to go, so I just stood there. Then, three  monsters ran in, and they had deep voices and massive claws. They said that I hadn't hidden well enough, and started tickling me. I begged and pleaded, but they wouldn't stop. I've had the same dream every night since then, but I hide in a different spot every time, and they always find and tickle me."

Harry's voice has gotten thicker, tears forming in his eyes as he lets out a small whimper.

Louis looks at Harry, mouth dropping open a little, before he closes it and brings Harry into his arms. He strokes his back gently, while whispering to him, "It's okay, baby, it's okay." Harry releases a sob into his shoulder, and Louis hums a random melody to him until he quiets down. He pulls Harry to his feet and sits him on the couch, telling him softly,

"I'll go make some tea,"

He returns with the cups a few minutes later, seeing Harry hugging his knees tightly to his chest, face pale white, green eyes darting around the room. Louis feels his heart clench at the sight, setting the tea down on the table and sitting down next to Harry. He passes him a cup, Harry muttering, "Thanks," and taking a shaky sip, teeth clanking against the mug. Louis leans back in his seat, thinking hard, fingers wrapped around his own cup.

"Haz?" He asks, cautiously. Harry looks up to meet his eyes, showing that he's listening.

"I have an idea. Now, we don't have to do it if you don't want to, but what if we tried to cure you?"

Harry sends him a questioning glance.

"How?" He asks, warily, hands tightening around his tea.

"Well, you have a fear of tickling because you have bad memories of it, therefore making you dream about it every night. But what we would do, is try to convert the fear into happiness. Let's say, I was kissing you and that made you happy. I would tickle you a little bit, only for a second or two, and anytime you were happy with me, I'd tickle you, but stop after a really short time. If we did it enough, then maybe when you got tickled you'd think of me and have happy memories of being tickled, rather than scary ones. What do you think?"

Harry sets his mug down on the table and winds his arms around Louis' neck.

"I'm scared," he whispers, "but I'll give it a go."

Louis smiles and leans in, brushing his lips against Harry's, making Harry sigh. His hands find Harry's waist, and he keeps kissing him for a few seconds, before letting his tongue slip out to trace Harry's bottom lip, just as he tickles his sides lightly for a second. Harry gasps, tucking his head beneath Louis' chin, whimpering, but soon calms down, pulling back to kiss Louis again.

And so it goes on. Every time Harry is happy, Louis tickles him, and after a few months, Harry starts putting up less and less of a fight, telling him to carry on longer if he likes, with a blush on his cheeks.

After about four and a half months, Louis wakes up one night next to Harry, hearing him laughing, but also screaming. He is quick to wake him up, shaking him and yelling his name. When Harry awakens with a jolt, he curls into Louis, crying about monsters. Louis soothes him through it, but Harry can't calm down properly, so Louis decides to try something a little risky.

He reaches down and begins tickling Harry's sides, gently, making Harry shriek and burrow further into him. Louis' fingers continue dancing over Harry's sides, scratching lightly at the small of his back with one hand to make him arch backwards, letting Louis get to his tummy with his other hand.

Harry's shrieks have begun to die down, instead being replaced with steady laughter. When Louis slips a finger into his bellybutton, his knees jerk upwards to protect himself, accidentally kneeing Louis between the legs. Louis lets out a groan, his hands moving to clutch his crotch.

But Harry drags his hands back to his sides, dropping a kiss on his forehead and mumbling, "Sorry. Please, keep going,"

Louis is confused, but can't help but smile through his pain, his hands returning to their original actions of tickling Harry. After a few minutes, Louis slows to a stop, pressing a short kiss to his lips. Harry pulls away, with a smile, hugging Louis tightly, small giggles still escaping his lips.

Louis feels a grin stretch across his lips as he hugs Harry tight, chuckling slightly.

"So Harry, do you think you're cured?"

Harry nods, face pressed into Louis' shoulder.

"Thank you, Louis," he murmurs, eyes drifting shut.

Louis tucks one leg over Harry's hip.

"Anytime, baby," he replies, falling into slumber.

Six months later and Louis has woken up to Harry laughing in his sleep many times. But instead of screaming, Louis' name falls past his lips, making Louis smile. Harry hasn't dreamt of the monsters once.

A/N: RAWR, so I had this idea last night because I was thinking about how weird it is that I have a fetish for tickling when I actually used to be terrified of it. Harry's dream was a recurring dream of mine from the age of five to about eight, I think. I'm still scared of being tickled if it's by someone I am uncomfortable with or don't like, it can make me cry sometimes, but most of the time it's just my friends doing it, so that's okay :)

And WOO no spelling mistakes again *dances*

I guess this is an apology for two things:

A) Not putting much Harry tickling in TBOTB, though there is a special surprise on the way ;)

And B) Not updating TBOTB for a while.

I should be writing the next part right now, but I have to be in the mood to write something for it to be any good, so if I tried to write it now for example, it would be absolute crap.

I'm not going to say when you should expect it, but fairly soon. Hopefully it won't take me as long to update as it did last time, though it might have already.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this Harry one shot, I don't do the other boys very often but I'm also brainstorming for the sequel to Statues. I think it's going to be Zayn tickled.

"But Zayn isn't ticklish!" I hear you say.

So you thought ;)

See you soon! *twiddles fingers*

(I think that's my thing now, the twiddling my fingers. That's just how I wave, it's fun.)
